Parad bomb case: Jayarajan seeks thorough probe

October 05, 2013 02:27 pm | Updated 02:27 pm IST - KANNUR:

Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary P. Jayarajan has demanded that the bomb explosion at Parad, near Panur, on October 3 night be thoroughly probed.

The explosion, suspected to be an accident during bomb-making, was the latest evidence that arms training and bomb making were taking place in strongholds of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), he said at a press conference here on Friday.

Terming Parad an IUML stronghold, Mr. Jayarajan said the police had unearthed weapons, including bombs, from there last year. Such incidents occurred as a result of police inaction.

Mr. Jayarajan said the incidents of hurling stones at some houses in the area in the wake of the bomb blast were an attempt to divert attention from the blast.
