Padmaja files nomination papers

United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate in the Thrissur Assembly constituency Padmaja Venugopal filed her nomination papers for the May 16 Assembly polls on the first day of nominations on Friday.

Ms. Padmaja reached the collectorate after paying floral tribute at the statue of her father K. Karunakaran. Padmaja paid homage at Amar Jawan Memorial too.

Around 150 Mahila Congress activists led by woman councillors in the Thrissur Corporation and Therambil Ramakrishnan, MLA, accompanied her. Minister C.N. Balakrishnan, DCC president-in-charge P.A. Madhavan, former Minister K.P. Viswanathan, former MLA T.V. Chandramohan, TDA (Thrissur Development Authority) chairman K. Radhakrishnan, and former DCC general secretary C.S. Sreenivasan was present.
