Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala has taken to Twitter to expand the reach of his month-long Padayorukkom campaign with quite some success going by activity figures put out by his campaign managers.

According to a statement of his office here, #UDFPadayorukkam recorded a reach of 14,71,000 and 5,00,00,000 impressions within four hours of the flagging off of the campaign wagon from Kumbla in Kasargod district on Wednesday.

This is for the first time that the propaganda of a political party’s campaign has gone viral on Twitter and attracted wide attention, making it the fourth most popular issue to be debated on the microsite.

Mr. Chennithala is also active on his twitter handle @chennithala. The Opposition leader’s campaign managers claimed that the Twitter feedback was an indication that Padayorukkam had achieved wide acceptability at the national level.
