Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala’s one-month march ‘Padayorukkam’ aims at mobilising one crore signatures that will reflect the resentment of the people against the unpopular policies of the Centre and State governments.
Announcing the details of the campaign, KPCC vice president V.D. Satheeshan, who is also the convener of the UDF campaign committee, said party workers would conduct house visits to collect signatures at the booth level. The target was to collect at least 500 signatures in each booth.
Mandalam committees would collect the banners from the booths and stitch them into a banner that would be handed over to Mr. Chennithala on his arrival at the respective venue.
The UDF is at present in the process of appointing coordinators at the district, Assembly and mandalam committee levels to convert the signature campaign into one of the biggest such exercises conducted in the State, Mr. Satheeshan said.
Mr. Chennithala’s campaign which will be flagged off from Uppla in Kasaragod on November 1 will conclude on December 1 in Thiruvananthapuram.
