P. Rahim appointed as government pleader

The State government has appointed P. Rahim as government pleader in the Kerala High Court.

A prominent Congress leader, Mr. Rahim has been practising in the High Court and Thiruvananthapuram courts for the last 28 years. He made his mark as lawyer by appearing for the accused in the mark list case decades ago and securing his client's acquittal arguing the case along side more prominent public prosecutors and seniors in his profession such as Ratna Singh and Kunhirama Menon.

Mr. Rahim came to be noted for the numerous public interest litigation cases he filed related to corruption and custodial deaths. He is also member of several human rights, consumer protection, and humanitarian organisations. He is also associated with Gandhian organisations.
