Chief Minister Oomen Chandy has been admitted to the Kottayam government medical college hospital following complaints of uneasiness.
According to Dr V. L. Jayaprakash, professor of cardiology, Mr Chandy had low blood pressure when brought to the hospital around 8.30 a.m. on Monday. "Now he is stable,” Dr. Jayaprakash told The Hindu .
When contacted, medical college hospital superintendent Dr. Tigy Thomas Jacob said the Chief Minister's condition was stable and investigations were on. A team of experts comprising doctors from the departments of cardiology, cardio thorasic surgery and nephrology have been constituted for conducting the investigations, he said.
Health Miniser V.S. Sivakumar, who reached the hospital shortly after Mr. Chandy was admitted, told The Hindu that the Chief Minister's health was stable. The Chief Minister's programmes for two days have been cancelled in view of his health condition.
