One more child dies in Attapady

One more tribal infant died in Attappady Hills, in Palakkad district of Kerala on Tuesday. But the Health Department authorities said that the child did not die of malnutrition at it had the required weight at the time of birth.

The four-month old infant of Lakshmi and Veeraswamy of Palakayoor tribal hamlet in Pudur Grama Panchayat died at their house.

Meanwhile, a three-member team from Unicef, Chennai, has reached Attappady to study the issue of the malnutrition deaths of children.
