: The single-window admission system started by the Kannur University under the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) for degree course in affiliated colleges will conclude with one more allotment.

Kannur University Deputy Registrar and convener of the admission committee K. Sahadevan said in a press release here that four allotments under CAP had already been completed. The committee at its meeting on August 20 had recommended to the university to hold the spot admission for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe reserved seats. The release said the spot admission for SC/ST students willing to join the colleges in the Kannur and Wayanad districts would be held at the IT Block on the Mangattuparamba campus here at 10.30 a.m. on August 31. For those who prefer admission in colleges in Kasaragod district, the spot admission would be conducted at the Nehru Arts and Science College at Kanhangad at 10.30 a.m. on September 1.

Students under the OEC communities would be considered for admission to SC/ST seats left unfilled at the spot admission, the release said adding that applicants belonging to the OEC communities could also appear for the spot admission. The release announced that one more allotment would be held to fill the seats left vacant even after the spot admission for SC/ST students. The last date for application for admission to degree courses is September 11. The university plans to complete all CAP admissions by that date. The release also said the differently abled candidates (including victims of endosulfan) who had applied online would be granted admission to colleges that are convenient to them.
