Renowned actor Om Puri was the cynosure of all eyes as he joined hundreds of people who gathered at the Gandhi Park Maidan here on Thursday evening to welcome about two score cyclists participating in a rally to spread awareness about the ‘dangers' of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant.

Mr. Om Puri joined in a candle light vigil along with the cyclists and volunteers, led by rally captain Prakash P. Gopinath, along with veteran journalist B.R.P. Bhaskar, Palayam Imam Jamaluddin Mankada, architect G. Sankar, actor Joby and many other prominent persons.

The five-day cycle rally was flagged off from Ernakulam on December 3 and reached the capital city after passing through the coastal areas of Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. The participants in the rally included college students and social activists from different parts of the country.
