Nurses Week celebrations begin

The district-level Nurses Week celebrations began at Perinthalmanna on Wednesday.

Perinthalmanna municipal chairperson Nishi Anilraj inaugurated the celebrations. District Medical Officer V. Ummer Farook presided.

Various programmes will be held across the district as part of the celebrations till May 12. District Nursing Officer P.C. Alice hoisted the flag at the District Hospital, Perinthalmanna.

She also administered an oath to nurses.

Circle Inspector K. Biju flagged off a rally.

District Deputy Medical Officer R. Renuka delivered the keynote address. Municipal councillors Sarojini and Kadungal Naseera, district hospital superintendent Shaji Abdul Gafoor, mass media officer T.M. Gopalan, government medical college nursing superintendent C. Prasanna Kumari, and EMS School of Nursing principal Pushpa Lazar spoke.

Ms. Alice welcomed the gathering. Reji Lekha proposed a vote of thanks.
