It was an emotional homecoming for Linu Baby, Praseetha, Jiji, Vidya, and Shalini, the nurses who have reached their homes in Pathanamthitta, Amichakary and Adoor from the strife-torn Iraq on Saturday evening.
Linu Baby who hails from the Upper Kuttanad village of Amichakary reached her home by 6.15 p.m. Relatives and friends received her with warm hugs as soon as she, accompanied by her parents and sister, came out of the car.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Lini said she had no problem in returning to Iraq, once the present crisis in that country settled down.
Though in captivity, all the 46 Indian nurses had received a humane treatment from the insurgents. Lini said she had been working in Iraq for the past 11 months and her salary for the past two months was pending.
