Nurses from Iraq to get pay arrears: Chandy

All the 46 nurses who returned from Tikrit received job offers from various hospital groups.

The nurses who had been evacuated from Iraq will get their arrears of pay. Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who held a formal meeting here with them on Friday, announced that he received a copy of a communication from the Iraqi government to India expressing its willingness to pay the arrears.

The Iraqi government would calculate the arrears and remit the amount to the Indian embassy after Sunday.

Mr. Chandy said the government would give all possible assistance to the nurses who wished to go back to the Gulf.
