NRI group extends help to Calicut University

A Saudi Arabia-based private NRI group, Al-Abeer, has offered Rs.1.25 crore for the renovation of Calicut University stadium.

University Vice Chancellor M. Abdul Salam and Al-Abeer group chairman Alungal Mohammed signed a memorandum of understanding on the university campus on Monday.

The financial aid of Al-Abeer Polyclinic Group will be used for erecting fencing around the tracks, fixing grass on the football court, renovation of galleries, changing rooms, wash rooms, pavilions, and construction of a cafeteria.

Pro Vice Chancellor K. Ravindranath, Syndicate members V.P. Abdul Hameed, T.P. Ahamed, O. Abdul Ali, head of Physical Education Department V.P. Sakeer Hussain, and Finance Officer K.P. Rajesh attended the event.
