Now, go online for new voter ID cards

Voters can now apply online for new electoral photo identity cards carrying their colour photographs.

An official press release here informed that the voters having their old electoral identity cards can apply for the new identity cards by logging on to the website of the State Electoral Officer www .ceo.kerala.gov.in from their personal computers.

The release said that the voters press the ‘Press here for new colour PVC card’ link on the website and provide information such as the number of the existing voter identity card, Aadhaar card, name of the voter, and mobile phone number.

Password

The password sent to the mobile phone should be entered in the space on the screen as instructed, it said.

When the information in the electoral roll appears on the screen, ‘Make Correction’ should be pressed if the voter wants to correct errors and/or add information in the card including date of birth, address and pin code.

The voter can also upload his or her photo from the computer.

From officer

The voter can also hand over his/her passport size photo, a copy of the Aadhaar card and other documents to the booth level officer during the latter’s visit the voter’s household for verification. The new card will reach the voter’s residence in 60 days, the release said adding that the old card should be returned only when the new card is provided.
