Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala has challenged the Left Democratic Front leaders to publish the name of the encroachers who encroached upon government land in Munnar.

Inaugurating the Youth Congress District Committee at panchayat community hall at Mananthavadi on Sunday Mr. Chennithala said the Congress as well as UDF activists did not encroach a single cent of land of the State. When the list of encroachers had been submitted to the Kerala High Court by the State government there were no UDF activists included in the list, Mr. Chennithala claimed.

Mr. Chennithala said a high level UDF delegation would visit Munnar on March 4, and would decide on the mode of agitations to be launched afterwards.

The encroachments would be challenged by the UDF with the support of the public, he said, alleging that the LDF government was cheating tribals by conducting pattaya melas in the State.

K.C. Balakrishnan, president, Youth Congress District Committee, presided over the function.
