Violence against women will not be tolerated at any cost, irrespective of the power or position of the person involved, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.

He was speaking after taking salute at the passing out parade of women police constables at Kerala Police Academy at Ramavarmapuram, here on Monday.

In all, 357 women constables participated in the parade.

Women police constables will receive complaints from women, who are victims of blade mafia, the Chief Minister said.

The government gives prime importance for women’s security, he said. Presence of women officers will be ensured in all police stations, he said.

Pink patrolling, currently present in eight towns, will be spread to more areas. Functioning of State and district women’s cells will be strengthened, he added.
