Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said that no one need try to drive a wedge between him and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

He was responding to a question posed by reporters here on Thursday.

Asked if their relationship was growing distant of late, he said, “Some people may want it so. But it will remain their wish”. On whether some ‘A’ group members in the Congress wished so, he said, “Whether they are from inside or not, their wish will not be fulfilled.”

He said he was not getting isolated in the Congress. Asked to comment on the allegation levelled by BJP leader K. Surendran that the Home Minister had called up Saritha S. Nair, an accused in the solar fraud case, he said, “Let those who level charges pass on the information to the investigators. I do not want to comment on a case that is being investigated. The call-list will reveal the details. The numbers of mediapersons, including that of a managing director of a TV channel, too are on the call-list”.

Left role

Special Correspondent writes from Kottayam: P.T. Thomas, MP, has alleged that the former LDF government under V.S. Achuthanandan is instrumental in generating credibility to the tainted Team Solar Group.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Mr. Thomas said the former government had allowed the company to use the government’s logo and also the images of the then Chief Minister, former Minister for Power A.K. Balan, and former Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran in an advertisement appeared in an English newspaper.

The advertisement had appeared on December 14, 2010, he said, presenting a copy of the daily.

Giving a clean chit to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Mr. Thomas accused the CPI(M) of instigating the present controversy.
