NGO union’s plea on medical college

April 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - Palakkad:

The district conference of Kerala NGO Union, which concluded on Sunday, demanded that the new Palakkad medical college be brought under the control of the government.

A resolution said a query under the Right to Information Act had confirmed that the government had no administrative control over the society that runs the college. It was established using funds meant for SC/ST welfare projects, the resolution said. Most of the people employed in the college lack proper qualification, it said.

CITU district secretary P.K. Sasi opened the valedictory meeting. Union district president E. Mohammed Basheer presided.
