New volume of encyclopaedia

From Gandhian philosophy to group banking, intergalactic space to art forms and rural economy to flora and fauna, the revised edition of the 10th volume published by the State Institute of Encyclopaedic Publications, to be released on Tuesday, contains 1,100 articles on a wide range of topics.

The fourth volume to be published this year, the book contains writings on history, political reforms, space exploration, personalities from Van Gogh to Che Guevara and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Godard to Herman Gundert, Godse, Golwalkar, Vallathole, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Bharath Gopi, interesting geographical areas like the Galapagos Islands, Gaza Strip and Austin Mountain as well as Google search, political and social movements, films and paintings. As many as 50 articles are devoted to the latest developments in science.

Minister for Culture K.C. Joseph is scheduled to release the new volume at a function to be held here on Tuesday. Eminent sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman will receive the first copy from the Minister.

The release of the encyclopaedia is part of the 100-day action plan of the UDF government.
