Cadets of the National Cadet Corps, Kozhikode Group, who participated in the Republic Day parade at New Delhi were felicitated at a function held at the Government Polytechnic College at West Hill on Monday.
District Collector P.B. Salim, who was the chief guest, gave away the prizes to cadets for outstanding performance. Colonel M. Purushothaman, Group Commander, NCC Group Kozhikode, and Nawaz Jaan, Syndicate Member, Calicut University, were among those present.
NCC Group Calicut covering six districts in North Kerala was adjudged the best group in NCC Directorate — Kerala and Lakshadweep. In the inter-group competition, Kozhikode group won the THAL Sainik competition, Republic Day camp competition and shooting competition.
Col Purushothaman received the Best NCC Group banner.
