Nature camps for students, teachers

The Social Forestry wing of the Forest Department will organise one-day nature camps for students and teachers in selected sites in the northern districts this academic year.

The camps are being held under the aegis of the Social Forestry Northern Region which has jurisdiction over northern districts of Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Malappuram, and Wayanad.

A release here said permits for holding the camps in selected sites in the districts would be granted to 40-member study groups comprising students and teachers of government-recognised educational institutions.

The release said schools interested in holding such camps should submit their applications.

The release said that government/aided schools, forestry clubs, eco-clubs, nature clubs, National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme and Student Police Cadets and Bharat Scouts and Guides cadets will be given priority. Application forms can be downloaded from the website www.kerala.forest.gov.in.

Applications should be sent to the Assistant Conservator of Forests, Social Forestry Extension Division, Vanashree, Mathottam P.O., Arakkinar, Kozhikode — 673 028 before June 30. More details can be had over phone numbers 0495-2414283, 8547603870 or 8547603871, the release said.
