July 19, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:21 am IST - ALAPPUZHA:

Varanad Devi temple in Cherthala is getting ready to offer a unique sacred grove for the devotees. The sacred grove, called Nakshatrakkavu, has 27 species of trees representing so many nakshatras mentioned in the almanac.

Astrologers are of the view that every person, born on a particular nakshatra, would benefit by offering prayers to the tree corresponding to his or her nakshatra. There are animals and birds corresponding to each nakshatra. Varanad Devi temple is in the process of arranging the figurines of animals and birds corresponding to each nakshatra.

The new facility will be consecrated on July 22.
