Malayalam poet, Ravindran Puliyoor, has been tipped for this year’s Muloor Award instituted by the Elavumthitta-based Muloor Smaraka Samiti in the name of Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker, satirist and poet.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, K.C. Rajagopalan, MLA, T.V. Stalin, Mezhuvely panchayat president and M.J. Jaisingh, samiti secretary, said. Mr. Ravindran has been selected for the award for his anthology of poems, ‘Thamboolam’, they said.
Forest Minister, Binoy Viswom, will present the award, comprising a cash cheque worth Rs. 10,001 and a citation, to Mr. Ravindran at a function to be held at the Muloor Memorial at Elavumthitta on February 12.
Judging committee
The judging committee of this year’s Muloor Award comprised Prof. Erumely Parameswaran Pillai, Dr. Prabhakaran Pazhassi and Dr. Dharmaraj Adatt, Mr. Rajagopalan said.
