MP seeks immediate arrest of culprits

Jose K. Mani, MP, has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking the immediate arrest of the culprits in the murder of Sister Valsa John.

In the letter, the MP pointed out that the murder had come at a time when an agitation in 31 tribal villages in Jharkhand affected by a coal mine project had reached a crucial phase. The agitation by the nun dates back even the Singur-Nadigram agitations. According to him, the nun had spent the last 19 years of her life for the tribes who are among the poorest of the poor in the country.
