Move to hush up Kottakkal sex racket case alleged

July 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:21 am IST - MALAPPURAM:

Attempts from certain political circles to hush up a sex racket involving minor siblings at Kottakkal have raised serious doubts and fears about the involvement of more people. Childline officials who exposed the child flesh trade centred on a housing quarters at Pulikottil, Kottakkal, said they were disappointed at the response of society to such a heinous crime.

What surprised the Childine and other officials was the knowledge of neighbours about the ongoing flesh trade using two girls aged 13 and 11. “Surprisingly, none bothered to report it or complain about it,” said a Childline official. The police arrested 12 persons, including mother, stepfather and maternal half-brother, for abusing three minor siblings at Kottakkal.
