District Collector, Sourabh Jain said that more raids will be conducted in the wake of complaints that house boats and hotels were using LPG cylinders meant for domestic customers.

Chairing over the LPG cooking gas adalat held at the district collectorate here on Friday, the collector said that four LPG cylinders were seized during the raid on Friday, based on such complaints. A total of 67 raids were conducted from October to December last. A total of 33 LPG cylinders were seized during these raids. The authorities also conducted 55 raids in January this year, he added.

The collector also asked the gas agencies to supply LPG cylinders to anganwadis in the district within three days of receipt of application. Priority should be accorded to anganwadis in supply of cooking gas. There should not be any lapse in giving bills. The agencies and oil companies should be careful in cutting down the delay in supply. He also asked them to sanction new connections based on seniority.

District Supply officer, S. Santhakumari, oil company officials and customers participated in the adalat.
