The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday approved, in principle, a proposal for sanction of additional Plus One Courses in seven districts in North Kerala.

Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan told the media after the Cabinet meeting that Plus One courses were proposed to be sanctioned in 120 panchayats in Thrissur and other districts north of Thrissur. This was in view of shortage of seats in those districts.

The Chief Minister announced that the Cabinet had also cleared the proposal for establishment of a university of veterinary and animal sciences in the State. Further steps for establishment of the university would be taken on the basis of the approval.
