The Thrissur District Court on Wednesday stayed the release of the film Mohanlal , starring Manju Warrier and directed by Sajid Yahiya.

The court stayed the release of the film following a complaint filed by scriptwriter Kalavur Ravikumar stating that the film was an adaptation of his short story Mohanlaline Enikkippol Bhayankara Pediyanu .

Mr. Ravikumar has demanded 25% of the profit of the film. The movie in which Manju Warrier is acting as a hardcore Mohanlal fan was slated for Vishu release. Earlier, in a Facebook post, the director of the film had denied the allegation and said there was no resemblance between his film and Mr. Ravikumar’s story.
