Modern Fish Markets for Vaikom, Ettumanur

The fish markets at Vaikom and Ettumanur, the two major trading centres for the product in Central Travancore area would be modernized with Central aid, Jose K Mani MP has said.

According to him, the Central team has already visited the area and expressed satisfaction. The Rs. 8 crore project includes modern infrastructure facilities including building complex at the market, fish stalls, cold storages, transportation facilities, waste management plants, lighting facilities, etc. “Once completed the markets will be among the most modern in the country,” Mr Mani said.

The Central team which visited the market at Ettumanur was accompanied by Thomas Chazhikadan ex-MLA, James Thomas, grama panchayat president and others.
