November 23, 2009 03:18 pm | Updated 03:18 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

Minister for Water Resources N. K. Premachandran and Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran will meet the Union Minister for Agriculture Sharad Pawar on Monday to discuss the Kuttanad and Idukki packages.

The meeting is scheduled against the background of delay in implementation of the projects. While the Centre contended that the State had failed to submit projects in time, the State government wants Central norms to be changed to meet the requirement of the State. It wants works like construction of bunds of polders in Kuttanad to be funded by the Union Department for Disaster Management.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food K. V. Thomas and members of Parliament from the State and higher officials will also attend the meeting.
