Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, on Saturday, saved an eight-year-old girl from the hands of a miscreant and personally handed over the criminal to police.

The Changanassery police said the girl was walking along the Main Central (MC) road at Thuruthy near Changanassery when she was lifted up in the air by the miscreant. The girl started crying and the Home Minister, who was on his way to Kottayam, saw the girl and told his driver to stop the vehicle. The girl cried for help and the Minister, his gunman, and the driver got off and took the girl from the man.

The police was called in and the man, who tried to run away, was caught by the Minister’s driver and gunman. The man was handed over to the police. The police said the man showed symptoms of mental illness and was giving them different identities. The girl was handed over to her parents.
