Kerala Devaswom Minister, Kadannappally Ramachandran, inaugurated the Ayyappa Medical Centre of Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences at Pampa on the foothills of Sabarimala on Sunday.
Inaugurating the AIMS advanced healthcare facility at Pampa, the Minister said the charity venture very well reflected the social and spiritual commitment of Mata Amrithanadamayi Madhom.
Mr A.P.S.Krishnan, AIMS vice-president welcomed the gathering. And Dr K.K.Haridas, head of Cardiology department, presided the function.
Swami Jnanamruthananda Puri of Mata Amruthanandamayi Madhom delivered the keynote address. Dr N.Prathapan Nair, AIMS principal, Dr Jaggu, head of human resources department and Mr K.Mohanachandran Nair, chief liaison officer, also spoke.
AIMS has also deployed Amrita Mobile Tele-medicine Unit (AMTU) in Pampa which is said to be the first of its kind in the State and the fourth in the whole country with the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) technology.
The AMTU is aimed at delivering a wide range of modern healthcare to the pilgrims coming from different parts of the country to Sabarimala during the two-month-long annual festival, said Mr Mohanachandran Nair.
