Minister for Rural Development K.C. Joseph said here on Monday that the State government stood firm on its stance that the Kudumbasree Mission was the primary mechanism for implementation of poverty alleviation projects. However, support should not be confined to it.

To questions from mediapersons, Mr. Joseph took a critical view of the statements made by Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh, who, according to him, should not have made remarks demeaning the demands made by the State government on the issue, which were based on the ground realities existing in the State. The government would take up the issue with the national party leadership.
