Migrant labourer hacked to death

A migrant labourer from Assam who was working with a private firm at Ettumanur was hacked to death by his colleagues following an altercation.

According to Ettumanur police Lohit Beka (23) son of Monmohan Beka of Jojoli Panchali village in Sibasagar district in Assam was hit with a blunt object on his head during a party on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred following argument among those participating in a party held by migrant labourers on Wednesday night.

Police believe the party makers were in an inebriated state.

The police have registered a case and investigation is on. Two persons, also migrant labourers from Assam are under police net, they said.

The incident was reported to the police by the victim’s brother who was also present during the incident.
