The Syndicate meeting of Mahatma Gandhi University on Saturday sanctioned regulations for the introduction of the centralised allotment process (CAP) and online submission of application forms for the postgraduate programmes offered by various colleges affiliated to the university.
Accordingly, applicants in the general category will have to remit Rs.100 and candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories will have to remit Rs.50 at any branch of the Federal Bank, and obtain receipts, which will contain the application number and a security key. Only one application is required for colleges under the university.
In the second stage, the candidates will have to log on to the website >www.mguniversity.edu , for submitting applications using the application number and security key, obtained from the fee receipt. Application forms will be available online from July 28.
The printout of the online application form, along with copies of relevant certificates, can also be sent to the Joint Registrar Administration II, Mahatma Gandhi University, Priyadarshini Hills P.O., Kottayam - 686 560, before 5 p.m. on August 7.
The index marks will be published on August 12 and a trial allotment will be held on August 13. The first allotment will be made on August 16 and will be followed by the second allotment on August 30. The postgraduate courses will commence on September 6.
