Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University Vice Chancellor P.N. Suresh inaugurating a cultural meet as part of the 104th Hindu religious meet at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, on Tuesday.

The ultimate spiritual message from Hinduism was of righteousness and the principle of ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam,’ meaning ‘the whole world is one family’ and this principle would be enough to guide the humankind towards universal harmony through acceptance and tolerance, Vice Chancellor of the Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University P.N. Suresh has said.

Mr. Suresh was inaugurating the cultural meet held as part of the 104th Hindu religious meet, organised by the Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Maha Mandalam, at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, on Tuesday.

He said that children should be taught the importance of cleanliness and self-discipline and develop in them the qualities of courage, self-respect, honesty, trust, integrity, empathy, and respect.

Mr. Suresh said it was also of importance to teach the children how to reflect these good qualities in the way they talked, behaved, studied, dressed, ate, and walked.

He said the people in Kerala had changed a lot and so were their habits and lifestyles. People were lazy or found it too hard even to do the household work.

T.N. Upendranatha Kururp, HMM president, presided.

T.V. Babu, Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha State general secretary; V.R. Radhakrishnan, NSS Ranni taluk union president; D. Surendran, SNDP taluk union secretary; and Prakashkumar Charalel, HMM executive committee member; spoke.

N. Gopalakrishnan, director, Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage, delivered a religious discourse.
