Mayor Prasanna Earnest has submitted a petition to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy seeking financial support and cooperation for implementing six important projects in the city. The Mayor submitted the petition while meeting the Chief Minister here on Saturday.
The projects are, an underpass at Chinnakada to ease traffic congestion in the city; the proposed drinking water scheme for the city with the reservoir of the Thenmala dam as the source; floodlights for the Lal Bahadur stadium; a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the city; a month-long ‘Kollam Fest-2011' scheduled to be held in December; and sufficient vehicles and machinery for maintaining hygiene in the city.
