Mass contact programme: Chandy convenes review meet

The government will take a favourable decision on the plea seeking below poverty line (BPL) category status to all deserving families across the State, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the progress in the implementation of various decisions taken at his mass contact programme at an official meeting at the Collectorate conference hall here on Friday.

Mr. Chandy said various government departments had started taking decisions on various memorandums and requests received at the mass contact programmes held in 13 districts. The State Cabinet had already taken decisions on various matters concerning the departments of revenue, cooperation, and transport, he said.

He said a decision to provide motorised three-wheelers to 25 physically challenged persons in the district was taken at the mass contact programme and district panchayat president Babu George had agreed to undertake it.

The Chief Minister received memorandums and requests from the people on Friday too.

Adoor Prakash, Health Minister; Anto Antony, MP; K. Sivadasan Nair, MLA; P. Venugopal, District Collector, and H. Salimraj, Additional District Magistrate, attended the meeting.
