Finance Minister K.M. Mani has taken strong exception to the information being leaked to the media in the name of the report of the lie-detector test conducted in connection with the bar bribery case.
Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme here on Monday, Mr. Mani said so many issues, many of them imaginary and often without any basis, were being discussed in the media on the basis of these information being leaked from certain quarters.
It was a serious matter that details of the investigation were being leaked, Mr. Mani said and added that he hoped the Home Department would look into such matters.
Mr. Mani said he did not want to answer questions relating to the investigation as it could be construed as an attempt to influence the inquiry. “I would come back to you within a few days,” he said.
Earlier, speaking at the inaugural function of the mass contact programme, Mr. Mani, in a veiled comment on the prolonging investigation, said justice delayed amounted to justice denied.
KC(M) seeks probe
The Kerala congress (M) had earlier demanded an inquiry into the alleged leak of the polygraph held in connection with the bar bribery case. In a statement party general secretary Joseph M. Puthussery had pointed out that under the procedural formalities being followed, the report of the test was handed over to the court in a sealed envelop. Another copy would be given to the investigating officer. Against this backdrop, it was imperative to investigate how the information was being leaked, he said and pointed out that right from the beginning of the investigation, so many unfounded information were being circulated and were being made topics of public discussions.
