A six-year-old handicapped girl was allegedly murdered by her father in a fit of drunken rage at Thrippangottur under the Kolavallur police station limits late night on Thursday.

The police said the victim’s father identified as T. Abdulla (34) surrendered before the nearby Chokli police station after the incident. He was later handed over to the Kolavallur police station.

According to the police, six-year old girl Ayisha, a handicap by birth, was allegedly killed by her father at his house in a fit of violent anger during an altercation with his own father.

The police said the girl was reportedly lifted by her feet and was hit on the floor when Abdulla's father questioned his coming home in a drunken condition. Though the girl was immediately taken to the government hospital at Thalassery, she succumbed to her injuries at around 1.30 a.m.
