A 48-year-old man was fatally hit by a train while attempting to cross the tracks at an unmanned level crossing at Thakazhi, near here, on Tuesday.
Bhadran, 48, a daily wage labourer, was hit by the Alappuzha-Kayamkulam Passenger while attempting to cross the tracks on his bicycle at the Karumadi High School level crossing, near Thakazhi, about 20 km from here, at 11 a.m. Bhadran is survived by his wife, Kanakamma, and son, Kannan.
On Sunday, four persons, including two German tourists, were killed when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a train at an
unmanned level crossing near Mararikulam.
