Mala’s last film to hit screens

“Chamante Kabani”, the last film of actor Mala Aravindan, will be released on Friday. The film, directed by Ambili, has Aravindan as the lead actor.

Though the thespian had acted in more than 500 films, this may the first movie in which he appears from the starting till the end of the film.

“I wanted the film to be released when he was alive. Even he was eagerly waiting for the release. But we couldn’t make it. The film is a tribute to the great actor, who fostered a new style of comedy in Malayalam film,” Mr. Ambili said.

Suresh Gopi appears as guest actor. Meghana Raj is the heroine.

Chamante Kabani is about the lost fights of the tribal community to regain their forests, dignity and life styles. The script was written by Thrissur Viswam. Krish Kaimal handled the camera. The lyrics were written by late Mullanezhy and E.C. Suresh. Vidydharan is the music director. P. Jayachandran, Chitra and Madhu Balakrishnan have sung the songs.
