Literary award for novelist Shemi

Malayalam novelist Shemi has been selected for this year’s Nooranad Haneef memorial literary award for her novel “Nadavazhiyile Nerukal.”

The award carrying a cash prize of Rs. 15,551, a citation and a trophy will be presented to her by poet and film director Sreekumaran Thampi at a function to be held here on August 5 to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of Haneef. Shemi was selected for the award by a jury comprising literary personalities George Onakoor, M.G.K. Nair and Chavara K.S. Pillai.— Special Correspondent
