Life of Kerala tribesmen worse than that in Somalia: Janu

Tribal leader C.K. Janu, who is contesting the election to the State Assembly from Sulthan Bathery with the backing of the NDA, has said that the living condition of tribes in the State was more pathetic than in Somalia.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Ms. Janu said the remarks of Mr. Modi were based on facts and the living condition of the tribes in the State was worse than that in Somalia. “During my election campaign in the tribal hamlets, I learned that the population in many a tribal sect was dwindling owing to poor health and dearth of healthcare facilities.” Ms. Janu said adding that tribal hamlets were deprived of basic amenities such as drinking waterand power connection.
