LDF will easily win Aruvikkara Assembly by-poll: Pillai

May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - KANNUR:

Kerala Congress (B) chairman R. Balakrishna Pillai has said that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government will have an easy win in the Aruvikkara Assembly by-election.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Pillai said the people of the State were disillusioned with the United Democratic Front (UDF) government. The electorate in the Assembly constituency would give the government a fitting reply, he said.

Announcing that the party unit in the constituency had been given clear instructions to work for the LDF in the by-election, he said the by-poll would mark the exit of the UDF government.

Mr. Pillai said the government would take all efforts to delay the filing of the charge-sheet in the bar bribery case. The Oommen Chandy government wanted to cling on to power by any means for another year, he said.
