Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan on Monday said the action taken by the CPI(M) following the party’s investigation in the RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekhararan murder case would benefit the LDF in the Lok Sabha election.

Interacting with the media at Vayalar, near here, Mr. Achuthanandan said annihilating fellow communists was not the party line.

“The family of Chandrasekharan doubted involvement of the CPI(M) in the murder. It was in this context that the party conducted its own investigation. The party general secretary himself had made it clear that the party had no role in it. The party had already revealed details of the investigation, which will benefit the LDF in the Lok Sabha election,’’ he said.

Claiming that the party would not accommodate murderers and criminals, Mr. Achuthanandan cited as a case in point the ouster of K.C. Ramachandran, who was indicted in the probe, from the party.
