Last date to apply for rubber plantation subsidy extended

The Rubber Board has decided to extend the last date to submit applications for assistance for replanting and new planting up to March 31. According to a release issued here, the aid is being provided under the Rubber Plantation Development Scheme.

In the traditional rubber growing areas of Kerala and the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, growers possessing a total rubber area not exceeding 5 hectare (including new plantations / replanting), are eligible for a planting grant for an area up to 2 hectare. The rate of assistance is Rs.19,500 per hectare for replanting and new planting. For other rubber growing areas, growers whose total rubber area does not exceed 20 hectare are eligible for assistance under the scheme.

The rate of assistance in these areas is Rs.30,000 per hectare. The aid encompasses planting subsidy, cost of polybag plants and transportation subsidy.

Application in the prescribed form in duplicate along with two copies of the survey plan of the land should reach the respective regional offices of the board within the deadline. Application forms and other details are available in all regional offices and field stations of the board. The forms can also be downloaded from www.rubberboard.com.
