The management of the Lake Palace Hotel, which is in the midst of allegations of violations of rules and reclamation of paddy land, has denied the allegations raised against it.

The company denied the three allegations that were highlighted by the Collector in her notice, said a communication issued by Waterworld Tourism Company after a hearing held by the Collector on Wednesday.

On the allegation that the company had reclaimed paddy field to set up a parking area, company officials said the notice issued by the Collector amounted to intervention in the judicial process.

Regarding the allegation of land modification and diversion of a canal, the company said none of the alleged works were carried out by the company.

Attempts to portray the construction of the road to Zero Jetty, which is being used by several families, as one to the resort was part of attempt to malign and close down the resort.
