KSEB to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Onam

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has taken all steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the State during the Onam festival days said K. Radhakrishnan, the KSEB Chief Engineer (Distribution-South). He told The Hindu that a central control room has been opened in Thiruvananthapuram to cover the districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam in addition to Thiruvananthapuram district.

In case of supply disruption, consumers can initially register complaints with the respective section office or the complaint number and obtain a token number for the same. If there is a delay in restoration, the consumer can contact the respective circle control room quoting the token number. Still if there is a delay in rectifying the complaint the central control room can be contacted on phone number 0471-2461399 . The control room will function till September 4.

He said that necessary maintenance work has been completed in the transformer stations and lines. Old posts have been renewed. Necessary arrangements for providing staff and vehicles in case of exigencies have been made.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said that as the load is likely to increase during the Onam festival days due to illumination requirements. In order to ensure a brighter Onam consumers are requested to avoid all non-essential loads during evening hours.
