The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee’s Kerala Yatra was flagged off from Hosangadi, near Manjeswaram, on Thursday .

Flagging-off the campaign, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy slammed the Left Democratic Front of adopting an antagonistic approach to crucial issues concerning the public.

Flanked by an array of senior party leaders, including three Union Ministers, and women activists, Mr. Chandy handed over the party flag to KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, who is leading the month-long vehicle rally.

Addressing the function, Mr. Chandy said the LDF was stalling the Assembly as and when it was in session. The CPI(M)-led LDF was deliberately raking up needless issues thereby preventing the House from taking up pressing issues concerning the public.

Chennithala praised

Lauding Mr. Chennithala for taking up similar campaigns, Mr. Chandy said the “Sneha Sandesha Yatra” led by Mr. Chennithala had accorded priority to restore harmony in the communally fragile Kasaragod district.

“Kerala has immense potential for development and we should be able to make use of it. For that, the State needs to have peace and stability. The month-long yatra aimed at taking out the Congress vision to the general public. It is being flagged off with the slogan of ‘prosperous Kerala and secure Kerala’. The campaign also will expose the negative approach to development of the LDF, he said.
